CLASS OF 53 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

2 OCT 2018

The meeting was called to order at 1100. Those attending the meeting were Chris Zirps, Art  Bivens, Al Glazier, Darrel Dempster, Earl Griggs, and Pete Walker.  Tom Schaaf and Herb Tiede were unable to attend.

·       Darrell Dempster, Class Treasurer, reported that the Class Funds were $7,718 in the Alumni Account and $2,037 in the NFCU.

·        Plans for the Sixty-Eighth Reunion were discussed.  The proposed dates are 21-24 April 2021.  The headquarters will be the Doubletree Hotel.  The events planned are a welcome reception on the 21^st, a brunch at the ’53 Pavilion on the 22^nd, and a banquet on the 24^th.  Transportation will be provided by The Annapolis Bus Company.  Darrel agreed to look into possible tours.  The EXCOM members present approved the proposed Sixty-eighth Reunion dates.

·       The annual Army-Navy Game lunch will be at the Fairfax on 4 December 2018.  The cost will be $30 per person.

·       The class will donate $500 to “Wreaths Across America”.  Wreaths will be placed at each grave at the Academy Cemetery and at the Columbarium.
